Opens with expressive aromas of tropical fruit, cardamom, orange spice and guava.  Classic mineral tones underscore the mouth-filling palate of fig and melon, which meld into a nutty and toasty finish. The fullness and midpalate weight of this wine beautifully complement the characteristic richness of Far Niente Chardonnay. 

302    Chardonnay  GRGICH HILL                             2004  (Napa Valley)          105.00

A classy Chardonnay in every respect, offering enticing aromas of acacia blossom, ripe Meyer lemon, honeysuckle, a touch of minerality and a modest dusting of French oak.  Full-bodied and elegant on the palate with excellent acid balance and expansive flavors of citrus, pear, quince, green apple and spice, this crisp, complex, food-friendly wine remains lively in the mouth, thanks to the absence of malolactic fermentation and the judicious use of French oak (one-third new); long, lemony close. 

303    Chardonnay  CAKEBREAD                              2005  (Napa Valley)            85.00

Light straw in color with a glint of gold. Its aromas are reminiscent of green apples and a faint scent of apricots with a clean scent of mineral suggestive of flint. These impressions are repeated on the palate with a very slight buttery finish and a subtle hint of French oak vanillin in the background. Good depth with an ideal balance of fruit and crisp acidity lead into a fresh, silky finish. 

304    Chardonnay  FERRARI CARANO                    2004  (Napa Valley)            60.00

In keeping with our classic style of Chardonnay, we have blended fruit from eight of our most prized vineyards in Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Napa/Carneros. This Chardonnay is a fruit-focused offering with tropical overtones of papaya and mango supplemented by toasty almond flavors. It is a wonderfully complex wine with impressive balance and length. Calls for richer foods such as lobster, mussels or salmon. Creamy risotto and pungent flavored cheeses are always a hit as well as hearty chicken, pork, and veal dishes. 

305    Chardonnay “Reserve”  RUTHERFORD HILL    2002 (Napa Valley)       50.00

This wine was made with traditional Burgundian practices. Some of the finest French oak barrels from the region of Vosges, Nevers and Centere of France yield the roasted nuts and spices. Fruit and minerality are the signature of this Chardonnay vineyard. 

306    Chardonnay  STEELE                                         2003  (Napa Valley)            45.00

Keeping with our custom and house tradition, all the grapes are gently crushed and pressed. The juice is fermented in French oak barrels of which 30% are new. The wine remains in barrels for eight months. This Chardonnay exhibit excellent depth of flavor, wonderful acidity and complex aromas.

 307    Chardonnay “Chalk Hill” RODNEY STRONG                         (Sonoma)          45.00

After fermenting in new French oak barrels, this wine was aged ‘sur lie’, or on its spent yeast cells. Frequent stirring of these lees added a dreamy texture to an already full-bodied wine, making for a rich, plush mouthfeel. Powerful aromas of vanilla, baked apple, and spice join stone fruits and toasty oak on the palate, adding up to a compelling and thoroughly satisfying experience for true chardonnay lovers. 

308    Chardonnay GLASS MOUNTAIN                                                                 30.00

Ripe and refreshing, Glass Mountain Chardonnay gets off to an impressive start with complex aromas of apples and pear. Taste green apple and smoky oak. Try it with most any white fish, tuna steaks, poultry or pasta with white sauce. 

309    Fume’ Blanc  GRGICH HILL                         2005  (Napa Valley)            48.00    

This Fumé Blanc displays classic varietal flavors of grapefruit, lemongrass and a touch of minerality, a full mouth feel and a long finish. This versatile, flavorful white wine is a great companion to a wide variety of food flavors and texture.

Very youthful, pale brassy yellow color with enticing fruit aromas of green apple, apricot, rose and wet stones. Delightfully fruity, good accompaniment with chicken dishes, or as an aperitif. 

311    Sauvignon Blanc  Estate GUENOC                   2006  (Lake County)            30.00

100% Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is luscious, lean and complex, with aromas of lemon, guava and honeysuckle, with bright juicy flavors of grapefruit, pears and lemon custard. A perfect quaffing wine or with white fish dishes, oysters and cold seafood salads. 

312    Sauvignon Blanc  HUNTINGTON                               (Sonoma)                   35.00

Bottled early to capture the youth of Sauvignon Blanc’s light greenish hue, it is a showcase for vibrant and flashy Sauvignon at its best. Aromas of spicy green floral grass punctuate this wine’s bright and lively aromatics. Mouth-filling and lush Sauvignon flavors are framed with ample natural acidity. The finish is fresh and lingering. 

313    White Zinfandel BLOSSOM HILL                                                                 30.00

The wine has a delightful aroma of strawberries and the flavor of red, ripe watermelon. Lively on the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a refreshing finish.
